Spring Exhibitions at the State Art Gallery in Sopot
As early as April 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, the State Art Gallery in Sopot will host the opening of two new exhibitions presenting the work of acclaimed artists: Kiejstut Bereźnicki and Tomasz Kulka.
Exhibition: “Harmonia mundana”
The exhibition “Harmonia mundana” presents works from various periods of the artist’s career – both from museum collections and private holdings. The display will be complemented by tapestries created based on the artist’s designs for the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz.
Prof. Kiejstut Bereźnicki is one of the most recognizable contemporary painters. He has been associated with Sopot since 1952, when he began his studies at the State Higher School of Fine Arts there. Over the years, he has developed a distinctive and consistent visual language, remaining faithful to a reflection on the human condition and spirituality.

Exhibition: “Czarnota”
The title “Czarnota” refers to historical meanings associated with dirt, chaos, and ignorance—states that emerge both in moments of crisis and apparent calm.The exhibition presents works from the last decade, as well as a new installation created especially for the State Art Gallery in Sopot.
The artist combines inspirations drawn from medieval iconography, the aesthetics of video games, and metal music culture, creating ambiguous and unsettling imagery.
